Question #1:

Will stores accept half payment via credit card and half via cash?

If I wanted to make a $1000 purchase, when I check out could I pay $500 in cash and put the other $500 on a credit card?

Do only certain merchants do this, or do all?

Store in question is a Golf Galaxy store, just looking to buy a new set of clubs.

Can I legally fly a crop duster when i'm 13?

Last Christmas vacation when I was visiting my uncle who lives on 7000 acres in Texas he showed me how to fly his crop duster. It was really small and only weighed about 500 pounds. It didn't have a frame to it like most crop dusters do and It almost works like a golf cart. I'm going back there in july so is it legal for me to fly it.

Clutch hard to push down?

Just brought a Golf mk3 1.4 97 and when pressing the clutch down it seems really stiff. it comes back up fine and the gears all seem to be smooth. i'm just wondering if this is normal or can i make the clutch abit more smoother to press. Thanks.

What's a polite way to confront my cheap boyfriend in this lie?

He's basically a cheap guy, I've never dated anyone who never paid for my dates. Even when we went to Starbucks the other day he placed his order first - 2 cakes and a large latte and paid for himself, then I placed an order separately as the puzzled cashier gave me a look, for a small coffee for $1.65 and charged it to my credit card.

Anyway, the whole weekend he was saying he had no money and was broke, he makes 80K a year, has no bills and rents a cheap room. He was saying how his boss pays him on the 5th and 20th (whereas before he would say on Fridays). So I went along with it, I paid for the expensive restaurant he took me to and all that (whereas usually I'll pay my half this time I paid the whole thing which he has asked me to do before also).

So the 20th was President's day he was off, and said he was going golfing with his friend to this expensive course. I was like how can you afford that, he said he went to the bank and cashed his paycheck, which I could have sworn he told me he wasn't going to get until Tuesday since he was off Monday.

So the lie is, I called all the banks including the one he banks with, and they were all closed for President's day on Monday which is when he said he cashed his check and not on Friday when he got it. He said he couldn't cash it on Friday because it was post dated for the 20th. I told him didn't he know being in his late 30s that banks still cash post dated checks all the time (and why didn't he have it deposited he specifically said he cashed it).

So....he lied to me pretending he was broke so he wouldn't have to spend any money on me but to justify going to his friend's which requires a lot of gas he said he couldn't afford for me to take me anywhere, and to play golf and eat out and do all these things he said, he said he cashed his pay check that day. How can I say he couldn't have because the bank was closed, without making him angry, having a way to deny it and say I heard him wrong which he tends to do??? Sorry this is long but I'm really getting fed up and don't want him to deny he said that.

There was nothing before the big bang so it's irrelevant to even ask?

Stephen Hawking says there wasn't even any space or time before the big bang... just the entire universe compressed to a size smaller than a golf ball (smaller than an atom actually).

And the universe is still expanding... so the universe has an edge?

So it's useless even thinking about before the big bang. ;)

If there was no space then where was the singularity?

If there was no time then how did it get from frame one (singularity) to frame two (big bang)? An infinitesimal amount of time ~is~ still time.

Just some observations.

I bought the whole big bang thing for awhile and went down the quantum physics road trying to make it compute, but at the end of that line of thought... well if you haven't made it there yet you're in for a surprise.
@randy that's basically just the old idea that there were several big bangs and big crunches before this last one, that 'banged' a little too much for another big crunch to happen...

Is the callaway uniflex shaft to weak for me?

I am 16 years old, my driver is a Callaway RAZR Hawk with a stiff flex shaft, and my head speed average is 110mph.

My irons are Callaway x24 hot, and I do not know what my head speed is with them, but, knowing what my driver is, will the uniflex shafts be stiff enough to support me, or will I need to have new shafts put on?

Anyway, if I do need new shafts, I have a golf smith down the road from me, so I could have them install new ones, and what would be good shafts or will they need to "fit" me?

how could i get involved in doing something like Sports Journalism?

okay, so i have applied for University in September. i have applied to do English, but i am not too sure if i will get in, plus i don't know if i will end up finding the course boring or not.
i am really into sports, read basically every piece of football/ rugby union that looks even half- interesting. i also keep an eye on golf, tennis, snooker etc., although i find my 2 previous sports MUCH the more fascinating. i believe i am good at English as i got a B at Higher,without even finishing the paper, and doing no work all year haha. i am currently on a gap year kind of due to my health, and i am not doing too much. i believe i am able to write a good piece on either football or rugby, that is both knowledgable and controversial, due to me being opinionated and passionate. i write on this occasionally, but it is more ex problems and things like that haha. but on both the bbc, and yahoo sport, i regularly reply to blogs etc, giving my opinion and facts off the top of my head. i also had a question answered in Jeremy Guscott's bbc column the other week. should i write in to places? or look for maybe getting a Uni degree first? i am 18 btw. thankyou :D
are you being serious mate? i do not even have ONE spelling mistake here, you complete and utter fool haha! also, as for me using caps etc., this was because it is a question? haha. i wanted to get across my point of how i could get into the business. your answer was terrible. criticising me from your high- horse when you probably have the iq of a squirrel, and then the fact that i had not ONE spelling mistake throughout the piece? what an idiot. if you could have answered the QUESTION instead, then that would have been much appreciated.
are you actually being serious? this is a question. not an essay or a personal statement etc. i bet when you text somebody you put a 'haha' or embolden a word. hence why i put a smiley at the end :) the only peice of criticism i will take from you is my '-' between high horse, which i do accept may have been wrong, i did not think it belonged there but i put it there anyway as i was unsure. if you answered the question instead of criticising, and pointing out silly and absolutely pointless and pernickety errors, then i would have appreciated your comments. also, i never put caps in any of these questions as they are only QUESTIONS. from now on i will text out full words, instead of using short hand ever again, and put capitals at the start of every sentence for yahoo answers. hm. or not! thankyou! .... k n o b

Me and my bf talked on the phone last night and he said he'd come to mine After golf today and that I could come to his on thurs...... Come today I had no text or phone call telling me when he would visit me..... I texted him then he rang me telling me he'd forgotten and thought it was thurs he was seeing me..... I was so angry and felt forgotten... We sorted it out and he apologized a million times but I still feel like maybe I shouldn't prioritise him anymore...

How do I find the driver of a semi via plate #?

A truck driver was unsatisfied with how fast I was driving so he decided to force me off the road. I had my two year old nephew with me and it really traumatized him. I followed him and got his plate# and a four digit number off the trailer. I'm not normally vindictive, but this guy really got to me. I already reported him to CSP. My goal now is to try to get him fired or at least make his life hell by making his info public on Four Chan or something. How would I go about obtaining his personal info such as name address phone number etc... I have no clue where to start except by calling the company advertised on the trailer in the morning. The truck itself was unmarked as far as I fan tell. Info is Nebraska plate # 169654. The trailer number is 7072 and the company being advertised is Monument Shadows Golf Course. Thanks for the help.
@Ed Fox You can go to hell you judgmental old fart. The world is too full of old men and women like you who assume that every individual in the younger generation is reckless and immature. For your information I was driving BELOW the speed limit and I was in the SLOW LANE! 65 in a 75 zone on a multi lane highway is not unreasonable. But, regardless of anything there is no justification for forcing someone off the road potentially killing them. Or is it that death doesn't bother you. You're the kind of old man that makes the younger generation hate the elderly. Go and have a heart attack already and make the world a better place.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Kind of... I was able to find the company the driver worked for. I started by calling the golf corse. They knew right away who I was talking about as they have only one ad on a truck. So, they gave me the number to that company. When I called them they transferred me to the local office and they transferred me to a manager, we can call him Michael. He was very empathetic and seemed genuinely concerned. He was able to match the time and trailer# to a dispatch report. It turned out that it was a contracted driver with Hogue Trucking. Michael said he knew the owner personally and would make sure everything was addressed properly.

I'm satisfied that I did my due diligence and no longer feel a need for revenge. For anyone else in this situation just don't give up you might have to go though many people but you can find the bastard. Thanks to the two people who offered real help.

I think people mainly women think im gay help?

I think so because every now and then one would come up and ask me. I think they think im gay because i never talk and i kind of look like one. One of them even told me if i was a girl i would be bad (very hot). I also smile alot, have a sort of high pitched voice, love singing but love to rap. Im not gay and i want people to stop thinking that i am. I think its my nervousness around them. Or its because i grew up with women all my life and may do things they do but don't notice it. Ive played soccer football baseball tenis golf. Love sports talk about them all the time. Im gentle, polite, dress in baggy clothing. I just really need help not sure what to do. I always think about sex but never express that to girls i want to have it with. Maybe its because of my shyness help im 18
